Styles may come and go, but what flooring trends are looking good now and for the future? We want our flooring to last and to look great with whatever changes we make to our homes and workplaces. However, what trends should we be looking for?
Anything with that natural look is hot. Natural wood looks and natural stone looks are something to look for. Pair these with whites, grays, or beiges and you’ll have a winning combination. Bleached woods, blonde woods, and the natural colors of walnut are some of the best choices. The more realistic the surface looks the better: hand scraped, knotty, or anything lots of texture and character. Aged wood and wide planks have been popular for quite a while, and they are staying around. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are very popular in more contemporary settings and the durability of tile is second to none.
Hard surfaces such as luxury vinyl plank and tile, ceramic and porcelain tiles, and hardwood are always a popular choice. However, carpet is making a comeback with simplistic patterns to make into area rugs or long, plush carpet for that extra soft feeling under your feet. Colors such as cream, white, and beige are the most popular.
